TOPIC: Harmony in the Hive – The fascinating World of Honey Bee Communication
Raylynn White resides in St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada, a small island in the
middle of the Atlantic Ocean. She has been dedicated to caring for bees for six years
and completed the University of Montana Master Beekeeper program in August 2022.
Her expertise has been recognized through her publication in Bee Culture magazine on
the benefits of propolis in wound care.
As a bee mentor, Raylynn offers both in-person and virtual guidance, helping new and
seasoned beekeepers alike. She also educates through sessions and webinars and has
created a bee curriculum for inmates at the maximum-security prison in St. Johns,
where she checks the three hives weekly with an inmate. This program uses
beekeeping as a form of therapy and rehabilitation.
Raylynns contributions have been highlighted on NTV Evening News and VOCM News.
She assists pest control companies with honey bee swarms and hive removals.
In addition to her beekeeping work, Raylynn has been a social worker for 24 years. Her
true passion lies in caring for honeybees and providing education and mentorship in the
field.
