5:00 p.m. Burgers and soft drinks will be served. BYOB. Meet speakers Bill Collins and Sam Ramsey. Bill’s a chemistry professor at Fort Lewis College, with intriguing insights on using plants for disease control. Sam’s the University of Maryland bee researcher who turned established science on its head when he discovered that Varroa mites feed not on bee hemolymph (bee blood), but on bee fat bodies. Sunday, June 10, Field trip to the Flat Tops

8:00 – 12:00 Look at high-altitude hives and some of the interesting flowers from which they make honey. Morning only, back by noon.
