Sponsored Programs

NCBA Sponsored Community Programs:   NCBA Volunteers provide a variety of service, educational and public outreach programs each year, including the Beginning Beekeeping Class taught in January each year, grade school educational programs, and an outreach presence at a variety of fairs and shows.  Our Swarm Hotline – most active in spring and summer – allows the public to report swarms for collection by trained beekeepers; and with demonstrated need, can provide limited financial assistance for removal of bee colonies from structures.  We also sponsor a web-based forum and an email-based discussion list (list serv) as information resources open to all with an interest in beekeeping.

Next Beginning Beekeeping Class – January 2014

Learn a new hobby! The Northern Colorado Beekeepers Association
offers a beekeeping course that will provide beginners with enough knowledge and
assistance to assemble a bee hive, populate it with bees and safely manage the
hive. Students also have the option to purchase bees and beekeeping equipment at reduced prices through the association.

The 2014 Beginning Beekeeping Class will be held at “the Ranch” in Loveland on Jan 11, 18 and 25 from 8am-12:30pm.  We currently are planning to begin class registration in September, so check back for the registration form later in the year.   Registrants MUST PRE-REGISTER and pre pay for the class.
