winter feeding

We're supposed to have record highs later this week and I'm thinking of feeding.  What do you recommend: syrup, cakes or fondant? Recipes?

   Hi Matt,

   I'm still a rank amateur in beekeeping, but have had good luck with medium syrup via a plastic bag with tiny slits to allow access.  I've also read about a brewer's yeast/sucrose/water paste to supply protien- i'll probably start this next week.
