1. June Meeting

The NCBA June Meeting  is our Annual Meet and Greet Potluck / Picnic on Thursday evening June 14, 2012 6:30 – 8:30 P.M. in Berthoud at the South Park Pavilion (click here for a map).  Please plan to bring your own cup, plate and utensils, so we can minimize the waste we generate.   We need lots of volunteers to contribute time and food for this event – please email volunteer@nocobees.org if you can help, and to help coordinate a balance between main dishes, side dishes, salads and deserts! Future Meeting Ideas – We always want our meetings to address the needs of our membership.  If there is a topic you’d like to see us address, please let us know.  Email NCBApres@nocobees.org.
  2. To All Who Volunteer – Way to Bee!

This month we would like to acknowledge all those who contribute their time, energy and ideas to make the achievements of the NCBA possible – our volunteeers!  As an all-volunteer organization, there is no NCBA without your support.  Many hands make light work – please consider doing what you can.  There are many ways you can contribute.  First, NCBA is in need of a few good leaders.  We need an Education and Outreach coordinator to work with the Volunteer Coordinator with our public outreach events.  Annual Elections are right around the corner.  Those of you willing to share your voice and your experience, please consider offering your name as an Officer or Advisor and being a part of the Executive Committee that guides the NCBA.   As always, we need people willing to assist at our public outreach events, to contribute to the various committees, and to bring refreshments to meetings.  It’s easy! just emailvolunteer@nocobees.org.

About NCBA – Northern Colorado Beekeepers Association

The Northern Colorado Beekeepers Association (NCBA) is an organization of both hobbyist and commercial beekeepers.  We exist to provide a forum for education in beekeeping both to our members and to the general public, and for exchange of ideas and experiences.  We also enjoy some ability to provide savings in equipment and bees by purchasing as a group.  We are affiliated with the Colorado State Beekeepers Association.  We meet once a month with the above objectives in mind.  Each meeting strives to discuss one or two subjects of interest in beekeeping.  Whenever possible we will discuss beekeeping and hive maintenance activities appropriate for the next month.  We also like to provide time for members to discuss beekeeping among themselves.  Once a year, usually around January, we conduct a multi-session beginning beekeeping class.  On completion of the class, we offer you the opportunity to join the association, to order beekeeping equipment and bees, and we offer you a mentor to help you get off to a good start.  If you have any interest in keeping bees, we encourage you to join us. We believe joining a beekeeping association such as ours is one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to start beekeeping. By joining now you will receive our news letter as well as notification of upcoming classes and meetings.  Dues are modest and affiliates members with the Colorado State Beekeepers Association. See the pages about future and past meetings for examples of meeting content..

NCBA is a 501c3 organization, and donations are tax deductible.
